Redwoods!

We spent Sunday night at Wayne's dads house and Monday morning we headed another 5 hours to Crescent City on the coast! We were able to watch the sunset that night, and it was beautiful.

Not everything about this trip was wonderful. Before we even got to Crescent City, we stopped at a rest stop. While Shea and Wayne were using the restrooms I decided to put Rylee up on this stump. Well, I lost my balance with Rylee in my arms and fell up against this stump. As I pulled my camera out of my pocket to take the picture I realize that I landed right on the screen. So I apologize for some of the pictures. They aren't centered, but at least my camera still works! haha.

We stayed at the KOA there in one of their Kamping Kabins. It was perfect for us. It was right in the Redwoods and just what we wanted!

I can't get enough of the Redwoods! I absolutely love it there. It felt like you were in another world. They are so beautiful and mysterious! This is the road we took to go hiking.

Along the road we spotted this Redwood. It was struck by lightning which burns the middle and makes them hallow.

Wayne and his banana slugs! When he was a child, he was dared to lick one. To his surprise it turns you tongue numb! He wouldn't do it again, I even dared him!

We spent a couple hours at the Ocean. It was super cold. But the Shea didn't mind.

She got so wet in the water that her pants and underwear started to fall down. It was so FUNNY!

In Crescent City, there is a place called Ocean World. The sea lions were their favorite!

California Trip - Getting There

Wayne had to work until 8pm on Saturday, so we decided to have me take the kids early that afternoon to my parents house. Then when Wayne got off work he would get the dogs, load them in the Tahoe and drive to my parents that night. My mom wanted to do an Easter egg hunt for all her grandchildren, which Shea and Rylee loved!

Rylee seemed to know just what to do.

The plan was to leave at 5am. Since I got to Utah that afternoon you would think that I would have gotten plenty of sleep. Not the case! Rylee was sick all night! Wayne got there at 2am and Rylee and I were still awake!! We were still determined to stick to the schedule, and we did leave at 5am. (With only 2 hours of sleep.) It worked out okay. Wayne and I took turns driving every 2 hours or so. The kids hung in there, and there were no major blowups!! ha ha.

We got to California, and we decided to take a break and explore the Subway Caves. Don't ask me where they were! Wayne went there a lot growing up. I really don't like caves. They are too dark and creepy for me!

Last week I was down in Utah for the RV Show for work. Shea decided to come along with me to the show. (Okay, I made her come because she was being mean and I wanted to punish her! haha) She decided to color some pictures and stand out front trying to give them to people. She got 5 cents and some promises that they would go up on their fridge. It was a long day for both of us.

Wayne and Shea built a hut one morning. They had a lot of fun. I think Wayne actually had more fun than Shea!

He got stuck in the fort. It was classic!!

I never thought I would have a child that had hair. Rylee's hair is long enough to braid!!

I love Idaho! It is hard to see but Shea is out by the tree. She was trying to find animal tracks.

Shea's 5th Birthday!

Shea turned 5 years old on Thursday. I can't believe how old she is getting. In 9 more years, she will be able to start driving. Scary thought! She says that she had a great birthday. I wasn't sure how it was going to turn out because I had ordered all her presents online. Thursday morning came around and still no presents! I was freaking out. I dropped her off at preschool and rushed to the local grocery store to buy a couple cheap gifts. I had to get her something to open on her birthday! Wayne had to work at 2pm, so we decided to have her party right ofter preschool. On our way home from picking her up from school, we noticed that our mailbox was open and stuffed full with bags!! They came just in time! We are still only missing 1 gift! ha ha.

Shea was so excited to open up her pillow pet. That was the one things she wanted. I am so happy that it came!

It's not a party in the Myers house without balloons!

We all went outside to build a snowman, but the snow was horrible. So we played with the dogs instead.

It was a lot of fun. We tied the sled to Mack and he pulled Shea up and down our driveway!

Wayne was to big to be pulled, so he ran!

Shea is doing really good in preschool. She thinks she can read. She is almost there. She just needs to figure out the blending of the sounds. Rylee loves it.

Mack sure is a good dog. He has to put up with a lot of crap. This day he was Sheas horse!
