Employee of the Month

Today was Wayne's Employee of the Month luncheon at the Four Seasons. Every month, 10 employees are nominated for the Employee of the Month. They then hold a luncheon for everyone to announce the winner. This was Wayne's 4th nomination. And guess what, he won! I am so proud of him. He is such a hard worker and has a great work ethic. I am so glad that the company has noticed all of his hard work. He was given $100, a $300 bonus, and dinner for 2 at the Westbank Grille. (The restaurant inside the Four Seasons) I get to put on my fancy clothes finally! Now, he is in the running for the Employee of the Year. This won't be announced until probably February of next year, but you can sure bet we are keeping our fingers crossed. Congratulations, Wayne! We love you and are so proud of you. I will post a picture of him holding his certificate in a couple days. I forgot my USB cable.

Movie Night

Life's been a little bit hectic for the Myers Family. With work and everything else being a mother consists of, we haven't had anytime to sit back and relax. So Wayne and I decided to make it a movie night. We were able to go to the famous Spud Drive-In and see the new Indiana Jones movie on opening day! (Well at least the Drive In is famous to us, because that is the only thing to do withing 50 miles! ha ha.) We went extra early to make sure we got a good spot. About 4 hours early, and believe it or not, we were the first people there! ha ha. After my husband making fun of me for about 5 minutes for being so early, 5 other cars followed. By the time we knew it, the Drive In was packed! We luckily had our portable DVD player with us in the car, so I was able to keep Wayne and Shea busy until the movie started. Shea had a blast, and surprisingly did very well. I think she is to the age that we can start taking her to movies again! YEAH! The movie was good. My favorite Indiana Jones movie is definitely the 3rd one though. Anyway, it was really nice to take it easy for a change.

Getting to know Wayne!

10 things you don't know:

1. Between High School Football, teenage fights, and motorcycle accidents he has broken his nose 5 times. (I love his Owen Wilson nose!)

2. Don't be deceived. He is extremely smart! It is crazy to watch Jeopardy with him. He gets almost every question right. (Same goes for Cash Cab. We love that show.)

3. He is a Mountain Man at heart. If he could he would be living in a yurt, in the mountains, living off the land. Ha ha.

4. He graduated from Rick's College with a Chemistry degree. He wanted to do something with Forensic Science. But after a police ride in Boise, he quickly changed his mind. Which he is glad he did because he really enjoys his career.

5. He loves to read! Anything really, but he enjoys Fantasy and Survival books.

6. He went on an LDS mission to India. About 18 months into it his mission was closed. He served the remaining 6 months in New Mexico.

7. He is a really great father. He may be in his 30's, but he is a little kid at heart. Shea absolutely adores her daddy.

8. He loves Mexican food.

9. He was a little hellion growing up. Always running around as a child looking into every crack and hole. Very Independent, and very Fast says his mother.

10. He was born and raise in Northern California. He says he will never live there because of the heat, but I think he would. He is a man that loves the COLD!

Mother's Day and Chemical Burns

Mother's Day started out just like any other day. It didn't change much until around 5 pm when Wayne got home from work. Wayne is such a wonderful cook, so he whipped me up something good to eat. Chicken and Shrimp Fettuccine Alfredo, YUM! Once Shea saw the cake, she wouldn't stop saying "Happy Birthday!" Another highlight of the day was getting to talk to my brother Ryan, who is on his mission in Florida. He called about 3 times throughout the day, and I was able to talk to him with a conference call to my parents house. He is currently the District Leader, and is doing great on his mission! Although, he can't wait to come home to see his favorite sister, ME! ha ha. Ryan has always had a thing with little kids, for some reason they absolutely love him. I can't wait to see what kind of trouble Shea and him get into! Anyway, I am so grateful for my family and all that they do. I can't picture it any other way!

Monday, Wayne gave me a call from work around 3 pm. He said that he had to go the ER. He received a chemical burn at work from sticking his hand in some very powerful bleach!! Ouch! He had gotten a call from the laundry room to take a look at the washing machine. When he got to the laundry room, he began doing the usual. He took off the front panel and got on the ground to look under the machine. He then proceed to go the the maintenance shop to get a tool. On his way to the shop, he noticed his hand tingling. He looked at his hand and it was white in certain areas. WHITE WHITE! He thought to himself, "When did I get paint on my hand?" He then remembered that when he walked into the laundry room, a girl was mopping something up that she had spilled. He then put two and two together, chemical burn. He stuck his hand under some cold water, then proceed to spray burn spray on it. That's when his boss Ed came into the room and saw the burn. He freaked out and took Wayne to the ER. As they drove to the hospital, Security went to the laundry room to get the info off of the bottle for the hospital. The doctor said they got there just in time, any longer his hand could have gotten a lot worse. He is fine and walked away with a few blisters. The Maintenance crew and myself are all happy that nothing happened to his nose, AGAIN!

Hurray for MOTHERS!

This is a picture of Wayne's mother Kathy. We love her very much. She is such a wonderful lady, (not to mention a great Grandma). I must say, she taught my husband well. And I know that she was the lady for the job! It's not easy living with Wayne! ha ha. I have to thank her for being such a wonderful mother to my husband, and teaching him so many things. He is so caring, and loving, and as a great work ethic and I know these are qualities that Kathy gave him. We love you Kathy, and hope to see you soon.

This is my mother, Shelly. I love her so much. I know that what ever happens she will always be there for me and my family. I was a WILD child growing up, and I have to thank her for always believing in me, and being patient with me. As a mother, I know how hard it is to have patience and that is something I am always working on. She taught me the importance of hard work, which I will always be greatful for. I love ya!

Tahoe Update!

It's fixed! Not that anyone really cares, but I am really excited to have this car problem issue resolved. They found a couple wires loose that connected the computer to ??? (something). They had Wayne test drive it for a couple days before making us pay, just to be sure. Well, it works!! Yeah! One less thing for me to stress about, and it only cost $250. Not bad considering I was budgeting for $400. Sweet! I just drove home from Utah this morning where it was nice and warm. I am at work right now looking out the window at a snow blizzard. That's right, it's snowing. Not so much a shock, but it is coming from 80 degree weather. Where is summer?

Fun in the Sun!

Monday, we spent all day over at my friend Shalyse's house. We had a blast. Shea and her little girl, Ryann, played all day. We were both shocked at how well they played with each other with NO NAP! They took turns pulling each other in the wagon.

Watched each other eating soggy Doritos chips! Yum Yum!

And took turns pushing each other in the swing.

We loved spending time with them. Little Westin is such a good little baby, and Ryann is such a good sister. From the looks of it, Shea and Ryann are going to be great friends. Thanks to Shalyse for letting us destroy there yard. We had a blast. (P.S. It was nearly 80 degrees, and my legs got fried! Ouch!)
