T-ball

It's official. Shea has started T-ball. It's a little bitter sweet for me. Sweet because T-ball is the funnest thing to watch, but I'm a little bitter because I hate the weather. It's cold and windy and cold!! Oh well, I guess it's worth it to watch the little ones learn how to play. Shea seems to like it a lot. Shea and one other girl are the only girls on the team. It's a little scary because Shea doesn't seem to mind one little bit. She loves playing with the boys and she has met some new friends. She better get sick of all the boys because she is starting dance lessons in a couple weeks. Rylee is growing up so fast. Just out of the blue she has started to put a couple words together. We can sort of understand her now between all the screaming! ha ha. Her new thing is yelling at the top of her lungs every time she sees a cow. And living up her she sees a lot of them! She will not stop yelling until someone eclogues the fact that she sees it. Oh, and she is climbing out of her crib, which makes my nights really long. Wayne is still working hard as ever. The hotel that I work at has been super slow. Some people in our ward bought a Subway and needed some help covering some shifts. So I have been helping them out since March. It's only a couple days a week and only for 2 hours, so it's been pretty nice getting a little money since I haven't been working much at the hotel. We are hoping to pick back up in mid June. The dogs are crazy as ever. Mack, our golden retriever, loves to lie down in all the mud puddles. UGG! Well, that's about it in my life. Hope to bring some more t-ball pictures soon. I keep forgetting my camera!

Last but not least, FAMILY!

Shea was super excited to see her cousins the entire trip. She was super patient waiting until the last 3 days of our vacation to see them. Bekah and Shea are two peas in a pod!

We got down to Cyndi and Mike's on Friday night, and Saturday their ward was doing a Easter Egg Hunt for the ward. So of course we had to go!

Rylee was excited about her eggs, but then turned to a stick.

Every year, Wayne's moms side of the family always gets together for a Easter Picnic. This was one of the reasons Wayne really wanted to go to California. He wanted the girls to be there for the Easter Egg Hunt. We had a lot of fun even though it was cold, then hot, then cold, then hot! ha ha.

Patrick's Point

Before we headed back to Grandpa Bob's house we had to drive thru a tree! Shea thought it was pretty cool.

Wayne spent a lot of his childhood at Patrick's Point, which was on our way home. So we had to stop, and I am glad we did. We had a lot of fun!

Another Banana Slug!

We decided to walk to Wedding Rock first.

When we got to the top, we were told to turn around because the Coast Guard was doing Helicopter Survival Training. So we hurried down and tried to make it over to Patrick's Point to watch the helicopter.

It was pretty cool. These pictures don't do it justice, but they were really close. They even opened the doors and waved to all of us.

Redwoods!

We spent Sunday night at Wayne's dads house and Monday morning we headed another 5 hours to Crescent City on the coast! We were able to watch the sunset that night, and it was beautiful.

Not everything about this trip was wonderful. Before we even got to Crescent City, we stopped at a rest stop. While Shea and Wayne were using the restrooms I decided to put Rylee up on this stump. Well, I lost my balance with Rylee in my arms and fell up against this stump. As I pulled my camera out of my pocket to take the picture I realize that I landed right on the screen. So I apologize for some of the pictures. They aren't centered, but at least my camera still works! haha.

We stayed at the KOA there in one of their Kamping Kabins. It was perfect for us. It was right in the Redwoods and just what we wanted!

I can't get enough of the Redwoods! I absolutely love it there. It felt like you were in another world. They are so beautiful and mysterious! This is the road we took to go hiking.

Along the road we spotted this Redwood. It was struck by lightning which burns the middle and makes them hallow.

Wayne and his banana slugs! When he was a child, he was dared to lick one. To his surprise it turns you tongue numb! He wouldn't do it again, I even dared him!

We spent a couple hours at the Ocean. It was super cold. But the Shea didn't mind.

She got so wet in the water that her pants and underwear started to fall down. It was so FUNNY!

In Crescent City, there is a place called Ocean World. The sea lions were their favorite!

California Trip - Getting There

Wayne had to work until 8pm on Saturday, so we decided to have me take the kids early that afternoon to my parents house. Then when Wayne got off work he would get the dogs, load them in the Tahoe and drive to my parents that night. My mom wanted to do an Easter egg hunt for all her grandchildren, which Shea and Rylee loved!

Rylee seemed to know just what to do.

The plan was to leave at 5am. Since I got to Utah that afternoon you would think that I would have gotten plenty of sleep. Not the case! Rylee was sick all night! Wayne got there at 2am and Rylee and I were still awake!! We were still determined to stick to the schedule, and we did leave at 5am. (With only 2 hours of sleep.) It worked out okay. Wayne and I took turns driving every 2 hours or so. The kids hung in there, and there were no major blowups!! ha ha.

We got to California, and we decided to take a break and explore the Subway Caves. Don't ask me where they were! Wayne went there a lot growing up. I really don't like caves. They are too dark and creepy for me!
